Q: What is Sunbrella fabric?
A: Sunbrella is the number one marine fabric in the world. I have used Sunbrella fabrics for over 30 years, and in my opinion, there is no better.
Q: How do I take care of my Isinglass?
A: After each use of your Isinglass curtains, clean off all salt water and/or dirt with water,
wiped dry with soft towel. When not in use, store the curtains FLAT, with bed sheet
materials or the like, separating each piece
Q: How long will my Isinglass last?
A: Isinglass will last 6 months to 6 years, or more, depending how well it's cared for. Clean and store as stated above. DO NOT FOLD. Keep it clean. After some use the Isinglass will show some scratches, when this is seen, take the time to polish the Isinglass with Meguiars Plastic Polish.
Q: Why do snaps become difficult to snap and unsnap?
A: There are many types of snaps, with the most common being the dot snap. Note inside the female part a small ring spring which can build up dirt and saltwater corrosion, causing the spring to not work as easily. A small shot of WD40 spray every few months will keep the snaps working nicely. You should spray both male and female snap guts.
Q: Why is the thread on my canvas product worn, but the canvas itself is in good shape?
A: There are many types of thread, as with anything else, some are better quality than others. Another factor is exposure to the elements, like sun, saltwater, etc. and of course age. The thread is basically more fragile than the material used for the canvas product, thus it wears out sooner. Restitching canvas products is one of the many services I provide.
